John Jay Beauty College Enrollment Requirements
All documents and fees must be submitted before enrollment
- Drivers license, state ID or birth certificate
- Alien card (if applicable)
- Students must be at least 16 years of age and have a high school diploma (from a state recognized school) or GED. Foreign diplomas must be translated and certified by the Association of Credentials Evaluator (www.aice-eval.org) or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (www.nac-es.org)
- Four color wallet sized photos of face. No larger that 2 x 3.
- Social security card
- $10.00 check payable to: Louisiana State Board of Cosmetology
- $500.00 check or money order (down payment) payable to John Jay Beauty College
- If applying for PELL grant, go to www.fafsa.gov to complete financial aid application at least one week prior to enrollment appointment. If unable to link to IRS, you must request a tax return transcript from the IRS at www.irs.gov or call 1.800.909.9946. Your copy of tax return is not acceptable. Only IRS transcripts are accepted.

Financial Aid
John Jay Beauty College is an eligible institute approved by the US Dept. of Education to participate in the Federal Financial Aid Programs to those who qualify. PELL Grants are awarded to help undergraduate students pay for their education after high school. For many of these students, these grants serve as a 'foundation' to which aid from other federal and non-federal sources may be added. Unlike student loans, grants do not have to be repaid.
